When Snapchat approached Pier 1 about an opportunity to test some brief, strategically placed videos, I was initially asked to help brainstorm some ideas. Because this was concept was such a deviation from Pier 1’s standard approach, I had to nurse this project along—coming up with the majority of the ideas, making presentations of storyboards, explaining to our photography team why these videos should not look as “polished” as usual, explaining why “The floor is lava!” is funny, explaining to executives what Snapchat is—basically, a lot of explaining.
